Aris was inspired and energized when he was helping others. He had a strong desire to do things that promoted people’s dignity and self-respect, and his sense of justice compelled him to take action where he thought he could level the playing field for all.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, Aris’s family asks that you make a charitable donation in honor of his spirit and passions. Any gesture, no matter the magnitude, will be meaningful.
Smile Train captured Aris's tender heart at a very young age. He came across an image of a child with cleft palate and was adamant about doing something to help.

In Summer 2015, Aris traveled to Cape Town, South Africa with Woza Soccer. This was a transformative experience for him and a highlight of his life. In his words: “When I was in South Africa, we had been working with a girls soccer team that because of their femininity were not well funded. So in the months prior to the trip, the kids that went on a trip had gathered up pretty nice equipment. On our last day with them, we presented them with everything we gathered. Their reaction was so incredible that if it was this easy to make someone’s day, then why should this trip be my only opportunity to make a difference?”

ARIS WHITE CHARITABLE FUND
The Aris White Charitable Fund has been established to fuel the causes and ideals that inspired Aris. The Fund, which will be advised by Aris’s family (Bryan, Christine and Alex), will be enduring in nature, contributing to philanthropic organizations for many years to come. It is anticipated that Smile Train and Woza Soccer will be recipients of grants from the Fund, along with several other organizations aligned with Aris’s passions.
The Fund donation form can be downloaded here.
It is important that this form be completed and returned to Schwab so that the donation will be accepted, and an appropriate tax receipt can be generated. Questions about the Fund can be directed to Norm Bontje at norm@bontjeco.com.
